E3 2010

In my mid Xbox stole the show completely, they were the only ones who I felt came out with something brand new and cutting edge technology. Yes the PS3 came out with 3D gaming, but who in their right mind wants to sit at their TV with dodgey glasses on, which I find make me feel ill after sustained periods of time wearing them.

With Kinect announced I think Xbox completely owned the stage, even with Sony bringing on their monster truck...

I personally thought that Nintendo's pitch was weak, and Zelda didn't work properly, not the best thing you want on the lauch show really is it... I personally like Nintendo as a brand, but I think they make better handheld consoles then home consoles, because as soon as the 3DS was announced I was intrested.

Who do you think stole the show at E3?

It definitely wasn't Xbox, i mean i've only seen the Playstation and Xbox conferences so far, but i doubt Nintendo are in the running. Although the whole idea of Kinect is amazing, it just won't be as good as it looks, its basically the Wii without the remote and added voice control, and look how quick people got bored of that. It would be great to be in a warzone without any need for a remote so it's like the real thing only without the danger, but none of the games that were shown were shooters, nor were any of the ones they told us would be released soon after Kinect came out.
Sony on the other hand had a much more impressive show. They've produced 3D games, which will be used in shooters unlike Kinect, so it will be much more realistic without making the gameplay worse and gimicky. Sony also revealed its new product, Playstation move. This does look like the same thing as the Wii, but the games shown look much more impressive graphicwise and appear to have a better gameplay. This mixed with the 3D games, will produce much more realistic games than the Xbox's Kinect.

Ok, so you want to sit at a TV with stupid glasses on. 3D is a gimic as it is not 3D, and at the moment the technology has not been developed enough yet. The Playstation move is basically the Wii!

Its exactly the same technology as the Wii so how can u say it is unique? The Playstation move is an attempt to copy Kinect.

Sony was not as impressive and I cant believe u think Sony won? They showed nothing new at all, Kinect is the future of gaming.

how has 3D technology not been developed enough? it allows you to play games in 3D thats about as developed as it needs to be. and i didnt say it was unique, its similar to the wii, only the playstation has utilized the hardware it already has so that it can produce much better games. Plus, what can you actually do on Kinect that's worthwhile? you can choose stuff with your voice and hands. That's it really, you can't play shooters properly because theres no way it could trace your finger pulling an imaginary trigger, and at the end of the day, shooters are the best games.

Just because shooters are the best selling, doesn't mean that they are the only games that people play. There are still a tonne of very successful genres of games that could be utilised for kinect.

I would use Kinect for like relaxing, because after playing shooting games for a few hours I get very stressed (its just my nature :p) so having a casual game on Kinect to play and just get me moving again would be brilliant.

This certainly was the star of E3 this year, and unlike the other companies Nintendo, once again, came up with something COMPLETELY revolutionary in gaming. 3D gaming WITHOUT GLASSES!!! No, not just recycling old tech with the introduction of the PS Move and their bulky glasses for 3D. Or even Microsoft's attempt at controller-free gaming, which looks pretty cool but I don't see much potential in it for gaming.

The 3DS gives users immersive fully HD, 3D graphics on a 3.53-inch LCD display. By rendering the image TWICE it projects a different picture to each eye and adds depth to its graphics. That’s why for me it was definitely the best hardware revealed. Nintendo seem to be the only company who can come up with something original every year without just revamping some pre-existing stuff.

The only reason the 3DS can operate without graphics is because of how close it is to your eyes in the first place, this is not the future of 3D gaming because it wouldnt work in stationary consoles unless you were sat 30cm away from your tv. Plus, HD?? really?

That's because your watching a blown up image of it. Remember, it's gonna be on a much smaller screen than your computer's screen, so it probably doesn't look HD on there when it actually is.

well no because the size of my youtube player is only a tiny bit bigger than a DS screen, so there wouldnt be that much difference

Yeah I'm sure that Youtube can't quite match up to the graphical quality of the 3DS. that's why it doesn't look hd

Well. Youtube does now have the 1080p option, it entirely depends on your computer.

The other thing that makes me laugh is the new 240p option. It's so crap.

Yeah I don't really see a point to the lower res option. But the 1080p option, now that i have a decent internet connection, is pretty sick.

1080p works on mine as well, and good lord is it jizzworthy
