Is DLC the future of gaming?

I think that eventually when the gaming hard drives are made big enough, maybe with a few TB of storage space, that gaming will be moved online completely so that you won't even have to travel to a store to get a new game.

This may be a bit of trouble for the stores though... So I'm not 100% sure how they would approach it

first of all what is DLC? and second of all if its basically downloading games like you would songs on itunes, then i imagine each store would have their own little space on the network to sell stuff so they wouldnt go out of business

then yeah it deffo is, we already have it on game.co.uk you can download any game you want basically, so i think it's deffo the way to go, although, it won't be until we've got faster internet i don't think because it would take forever

Well steam have been up for a few years now and they've been pretty successful with it.

yeah but computers are able to download things much quicker, like i tried downloading a demo on my ps3 which took 3 hours, and then i downloaded portal off steam which took about 2

Lol Portal's a small game but I get your point. PCs are more designed for accessing the internet and probs have a better RAM too.

yeah i think the ps3 has 0.5G whereas my comp has like 4 so...
